Job summary

Pittsburgh Mercy is seeking an Employment Specialist to help clients with mental health concerns or disabilities find and keep jobs in community settings. The role emphasizes assessment, job development, placement support, and ongoing workplace coaching within a mobile, community-based treatment team.

The position operates on a Monday–Friday schedule with some evenings, weekends, and on-call coverage to meet consumer needs.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Human Service or Bachelor’s degree in a related field with 3 years of experience.
• Valid Driver’s License and ability to drive an organization vehicle.
• Criminal, Child and FBI Check clearances (Act 33/34/73).
• Pre-Employment Drug Screen as required.

Responsibilities

• Assess vocational skills, interests, and employment goals of clients.
• Develop relationships with local employers to identify job opportunities.
• Match clients to suitable jobs and provide resume, interview prep, and applications support.
• Provide ongoing workplace support to enhance retention and success.
• Offer counseling on career options and vocational planning.
• Collaborate with therapists, case managers, and psychiatrists to integrate employment goals into treatment.
• Maintain progress records, placements, and employer interactions.
• Engage with community agencies to expand job opportunities and services.
