Job summary

Sterling Therapy Providers in Mountainside, New Jersey is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) to support residents under the supervision of a Registered Occupational Therapist, implementing individualized treatment plans and facilitating increased independence.

The role requires graduation from an accredited OT Assistant program, licensure or eligibility, and strong organizational and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant Program certified by the AOTA.
• Licensed and/or eligible for licensure, as required by the state.

Responsibilities

• Implements resident’s individualized treatment plan as defined by the supervising OT.
• Provides OT treatments including activities of daily living and range of motion exercises.
• Performs ADL evaluations under the OT direction.
• Organizes and facilitates treatment groups with the OT.
• Instructs residents, families and caregivers in OT techniques under supervision.
• Collaborates with the rehabilitation team to develop resident-specific programs.
• Maintains documentation for residents treated in a timely manner.
