Qualifications

• A four year college degree is preferred along with prior insurance experience with an insurance carrier or agency.

Responsibilities

• Handle the adjusting of the entire claim without the involvement of a Desk Adjuster, including collecting loss facts and issuing payments within authority level.
• Schedule inspections of damaged property, travel to affected properties, and conduct inspections promptly.
• Access and inspect all areas of a dwelling, including roofs and tight spaces; ability to climb ladders safely for roof inspections.
• Photograph, sketch and scope all damages, including non-damaged areas.
• Keep insureds informed on the claims investigation and determine the method and extent of investigation.
• Review investigative materials to determine loss facts and coverage; coordinate with outside experts as needed.
• Interview insureds and witnesses to obtain facts; document actions in the claim file.
• Disburse claim payments within authority; provide coverage recommendations and total claim value assessments.
• Communicate findings timely and utilize multiple software programs to determine loss parameters.
• Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to resolve claim issues and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Assist with catastrophe operations, including after-hours work or deployment to affected areas.
