Job summary

The Salvation Army ARC Pasadena is seeking a CLASS B/C DRIVER (Production Assistant 1) to support the Pasadena Distribution Center. You will follow daily routing directions, ensure routes are completed on schedule, and safely load and unload trucks.

You will also train and supervise a truck helper, manage Bag & Tag procedures, provide courteous customer service to donors, and comply with DOT regulations and state laws.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license (Class B or C).
• Clean Driving Record.
• Strong time management and customer service skills.
• Ability to operate electronic equipment used for daily route information.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Follow daily routing directions and avoid going off route unless directed by supervisor.
• Manage time daily to complete the route within the work schedule; routes to be 100% completed each day.
• Safely load and unload the assigned truck and assist with others' loading/unloading as needed.
• Train and supervise truck helper in Work Therapy Assignment, modeling good work habits.
• Perform Bag & Tag tasks as instructed by supervisor and procedures.
• Provide courteous customer service to donors and report donor problems to dispatch.
• Abide by all DOT regulations and state/local laws; attend driver safety meetings.
• Accept other duties as assigned by Transportation Supervisor or Director of Production.
