Job summary

LearningWorks is seeking a part-time After School Teaching Assistant to support elementary students in the LearningWorks Afterschool Program. You will work with teachers and site coordinators to deliver engaging academic activities after school in Southern Maine.

Ideal candidates are passionate about youth development, able to communicate clearly, and committed to creating a welcoming, supportive classroom where every student can learn.

Qualifications

• Experience working with youth.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills.
• Experience using technology, including Microsoft Outlook, Google Drive Suite, Zoom, and other educational technology platforms.

Responsibilities

• Support teachers in delivering engaging academic instruction and enrichment activities that reinforce school-day learning.
• Provide small-group and one-on-one academic support.
• Work collaboratively with Teachers, Site Coordinators, and school staff to meet individual student needs.
• Observe student progress and communicate success and concerns with Teachers and Teaching Site Coordinators.
• Participate in weekly team meetings, staff trainings, and professional development opportunities.
