Job summary

Ymca-of-Frederick-County is hiring a BASE Teacher to care for small groups of children at school sites before and after school and in summer. You will take charge of the program when the Site Director is away, ensure a safe, welcoming environment, and support children's growth in arts, literacy, health, and social skills.

Applicants should have a HS diploma or GED, MSDE training hours, 400 hours of school-age experience, and strong communication and organizational abilities.

Responsibilities

• Manage BASE program in absence of Site Director to ensure safety and quality.
• Provide welcoming, nurturing environment with activities across arts, literacy, fitness, STEM.
• Maintain safety and follow discipline policy and YMCA Code of Conduct.
• Communicate with parents about daily highlights and behavior concerns.
• Complete administrative duties: attendance, incident/accident reports, documentation.
• Collaborate with school staff and participate in family events.
