Newton County Schools seeks a Special Education Adaptive Paraprofessional at Middle Ridge Elementary School in Covington, GA. The role provides physical and instructional support to students with disabilities, enabling progress toward IEP goals within the general curriculum.

The position requires meeting Georgia paraprofessional standards, daily attendance, and collaboration with teachers to implement instructional activities and data collection.

Formación

• Associate’s Degree or 60 semester hours or 90 quarter hours OR HS diploma with Paraprofessional Certification Test.
• Valid Paraprofessional Certificate is required.
• Strong communication and organizational skills essential for collaboration with staff and students.
• Be able to work well with adults and students and maintain effective communication.

Responsabilidades

• Be present at work every day, on time, and perform duties efficiently as assigned.
• Comply with all relevant school and district policies and ethics codes.
• Provide instructional support to students with disabilities as directed by teachers.
• Assist with classroom management and supervision to ensure safety.
• Record data and maintain routine records related to student progress as directed.
• Assist with clerical tasks and inventory of classroom materials.
• Maintain proficiency in Microsoft Office and comply with technology policies.
• Attend professional learning sessions and faculty meetings as required.
• Maintain paraprofessional certification as required by the PSC.
• Collaborate with colleagues and follow supervisor directions.
• Prepare instructional materials, displays, and learning aids as needed.
• Ensure classroom and equipment are maintained in a safe, sanitary condition.
• Monitor students during non-instructional times and transitions.
• Communicate with students, parents, and staff professionally.
• Maintain current Mindset: De-Escalation/Physical Restraint Certification when required.
• Be physically able to perform tasks including lifting and standing for extended periods.
• Assist students in activities supporting essential life-functions as appropriate.
