Job summary

Qualifications

• Must have graduated from an Occupational Therapy Assistant program accredited by the AOTA or equivalent.
• Must possess a current Occupational Therapy Assistant license from the State of practice.
• BLS certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Administers occupational therapy treatment according to the plan of care established by the OT.
• Documents progress and treatment per department standards and regulatory agencies.
• Communicates with supervising OT, physicians, nurses, patients and family/caregivers.
• Assists in discharge planning and ensures safe, cost-effective care.
• Demonstrates adaptability to caseload, scheduling, and staffing shifts.
• Supervises and delegates tasks to therapy technicians as appropriate.
