Job summary

Chicago Public Schools seeks an Anticipated Temporary Regular Teacher (6-8 Math) for the Southwest Side location (James Shields Middle School). The teacher will plan lessons, implement instructional methods, monitor student progress, and collaborate with staff and families to support student achievement.

Requirements include successful completion of student teaching and possession of an ISBE teaching certificate (PEL or ELS).

Qualifications

• Successful completion of student teaching requirements and coursework to obtain Illinois State Board of Education certificate(s).
• Knowledge of state certification requirements and teaching principles.
• Ability to modify instruction to meet student needs.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan lessons and prepare instructional materials in line with curriculum goals.
• Maintain accurate attendance records and student progress.
• Communicate with parents/guardians about academic progress and behavior.
• Participate in meetings and professional development activities; may coordinate field trips.
