Job summary

University of Illinois Extension in Sparta, IL seeks an Extension Program Coordinator for 4-H Youth Development. You will support promotion, expansion, and implementation of 4-H programs in schools and communities.

You will coordinate activities with educators, identify needs, evaluate outcomes, and provide leadership to volunteers and families. Travel and evenings/weekends may be required.

Qualifications

• High school graduation or GED.
• Any one or any combination that equals four years/48 months of responsible work in coordinating educational or community programs.
• College coursework in any field of study.
• Experience coordinating educational or community programs or activities.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate planning of educational activities for the program with educators or specialists.
• Identify priority needs and address them through Extension 4-H youth programs.
• Evaluate program activities and recommend changes or continuation.
• Provide leadership to volunteers, 4-H members and families.
• Maintain records and data, and prepare monthly reports.
• Recruit, screen and train adult 4-H volunteers.
