Job summary

ReNEW Schools is seeking a 2nd Grade teacher for a temporary 142-day contract from October 13, 2026 through May 28, 2027. The teacher will implement district-approved curriculum, assess student progress, and maintain accurate records while engaging parents and the community.

The role requires Indiana state elementary teacher certification, strong classroom management, and ability to differentiate instruction to meet diverse learners.

Qualifications

• IN State Certification as an Elementary Teacher.
• IN State Certification in the appropriate grade level preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education or related discipline.
• Masters Degree in related area preferred.
• Experience teaching at the appropriate grade level is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develops and administers school elementary curriculum aligned with district goals.
• Creates lesson plans and instructional materials to maximize instructional time.
• Conducts ongoing assessment of student learning and adjusts instruction to meet needs.
• Instructs students on responsible citizenship and curriculum requirements.
• Maintains accurate records of student achievement, attendance and progress.
• Communicates with parents and administration regarding progress and expectations.
• Coordinates with grade-level staff to evaluate and align curriculum.
• Supervises students during activities outside the classroom and during transportation.
• Administers standardized tests in line with district testing programs.
