Job summary

Sponsors for Educational Opportunity (SEO) is seeking an on-site Saturday Academy Associate Instructor for Math to support 9th and 10th grade Scholars in New York. You will co-teach four math periods, follow established lesson plans, and provide tutoring during open sessions at Baruch College and LIU Brooklyn.

The role emphasizes rigorous instruction, use of Brightspace, Nearpod, GSuite, and Zoom in a blended learning environment, with a focus on student engagement and college preparatory

Qualifications

• Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in content-related field.
• Teaching certification, K-12 classroom teaching experience, and/or college/university teaching experience.
• Own a reliable laptop meeting basic tech requirements for instructional/administrative duties.
• Experience working with high school-aged students.
• Comfortable navigating instructional learning systems.
• Expertise in advanced high school-level Mathematics (Algebra & Precalculus).
• Eagerness to engage in conversations about societal issues and causes.

Responsibilities

• Co-teach four periods of Math.
• Lead a class when covering for another instructor.
• Follow lesson plans and meet objectives with rigor.
• Utilize instructional technologies (Brightspace, Nearpod, GSuite, Zoom).
• Prepare and adapt lesson materials as needed.
• Host tutoring sessions for Scholars to review or learn new skills.
• Maintain a responsive and restorative classroom culture.
• Attend meetings, trainings, and respond promptly to communications.
• Meet with instructional coach for feedback and improvement.
