Qualifications

  • US citizen or legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field required
  • MBA in business strongly preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in corporate finance, particularly transaction execution
  • Strong financial and accounting acumen
  • Deep experience with transaction modeling and valuation analyses
  • Working knowledge of deal structuring including equity, debt, M&A, and fund investing
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills
  • Expert-level skills in Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word, and SharePoint
  • Self-starter with ability to work independently with little oversight
  • Ability to take initiative and work proactively
  • Exceptional team player with a positive attitude and collaboration
  • Two writing samples required for interview
  • Data visualization experience helpful

About this Role

Avivar Capital is seeking a mission-aligned Impact Investment Senior Consultant to join their investment team. This role involves collaborating with senior-level professionals across all aspects of investment diligence for client impact investment portfolios. The position is structured as a contract role requiring a minimum commitment of 10-20 hours per week on an ongoing basis. The successful candidate will contribute to comprehensive financial analysis and investment structuring activities. This includes conducting detailed company and organizational research, performing market analysis, developing complex financial models, and supporting transaction execution. The consultant will also be responsible for preparing investment memoranda and presentation materials for delivery to clients and stakeholders. Beyond direct consulting deliverables, the consultant will mentor junior analysts within the firm, providing guidance on workplan development, analytical execution, and presentation preparation. The role emphasizes modeling Avivar’s core values of integrity, trust, excellence, and humility across all professional interactions.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct company- and organization-specific research and analysis
  • Perform market research and competitive landscape analysis
  • Develop financial models, including projections, investment return analyses, debt capacity assessments, and valuation models using trading comparables, transaction comparables, and discounted cash flow analyses
  • Support transaction structuring and execution activities
  • Prepare investment memoranda and related presentation materials
  • Uphold and model Avivar’s values of integrity, trust, excellence, and humility in all internal and external interactions
  • Mentor the firm’s analysts in developing and executing workplans and presentation materials
  • Participate in the presentation of deliverables to clients and stakeholders
Requirements
  • Must be a US citizen and/or legally authorized to work and reside in the United States
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field required
  • MBA in business strongly preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in corporate finance, particularly transaction execution experience in investment banking, private equity, venture capital, real estate, or corporate development
  • Strong financial and accounting acumen
  • Deep experience with transaction modeling, including valuation analyses
  • Working knowledge of deal structuring, including equity, debt, M&A, and fund investing
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills
  • Expert-level skills in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word, and SharePoint
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently with little oversight
  • Ability to take initiative and work proactively
  • Exceptional team player with a positive attitude and ability to collaborate effectively
  • Attention to detail and highly organized
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize project assignments
  • Two writing samples required as part of the interview process, preferably demonstrating use of primary and secondary research tools and methods to support key findings and recommendations
