Job summary

Impact Genome is seeking an Impact Evaluation Specialist to help lead rigorous outcome measurement across social programs. You will work with government grant makers to evaluate portfolios, coach nonprofits on measurement integrity, and publish findings from the Impact Genome Registry.

You’ll contribute to IG’s point of view on how programs are classified and outcomes benchmarked, drawing on deep expertise in at least one social sector. A strong track record in program evaluation is essential.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of hands-on program evaluation or M&E experience across a social sector.
• Experience with government funders and translating findings into investment decisions.
• Ability to read evaluation designs (logic models, theories of change) and assess validity.
• Familiarity with program models, funding streams, and key sector organizations.
• Credibility with senior government audiences and coaching ability.
• Self-starter who owns projects end‑to‑end and thrives with imperfect paths.

Responsibilities

• Verify and pressure-test how nonprofits and government programs measure and report outcomes using IG protocols.
• Partner with government grant makers to evaluate portfolios, surface what works, and sharpen evidence-based decisions.
• Turn complex program data into clear, decision-ready reports, scorecards, and analyses.
• Coach nonprofits and government programs on evaluation design and outcome reporting.
• Publish original insights from IG’s dataset in briefs, reports, and presentations.
• Contribute to IG’s point of view on sector classifications, benchmarking, and data interpretation.
