Job summary

The Boys & Girls Clubs Of The Tennessee Valley in Knoxville, TN seeks a Program Director to oversee out-of-school activities and programs that help youth achieve academic success, healthy lifestyles, and good character. You will work with the Executive or Club Director to help manage the Club.

Key responsibilities include establishing program goals, mentoring youth, coordinating staff, and partnering with schools and community groups to promote Club programs and opportunities.

Qualifications

• 18+ years of age
• High school diploma or GED required
• 1-2 years of experience with youth and/or grant management preferred
• Must pass local, state, and national criminal background checks
• Must pass initial drug screening and subsequent drug tests
• CPR Certification (post-hire)

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain program goals. Continuously evaluate and modify programs to meet youth needs
• Document youth attendance, engagement, achievements, and concerns with membership tracking systems
• Complete grant reports and conduct pre-/post-surveys; input data into grant databases
• Monitor program areas, Club staff, and youth to ensure safety
• Offer one-on-one mentoring to at-risk youth and serve as a role model
• Delegate lesson-planning to staff and guide delivery of programs
• Assist Executive/Club Director in interviewing, selecting, and training staff
• Foster liaison between youth, parents/guardians, schools, and community groups
• Promote Club programs to parents and community partners; schedule meetings
• Arrange Club tours for prospective members and partners
• Handle administrative paperwork, calls, and budget monitoring
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Administer daily operations in absence of leadership
• Maintain cleanliness and organization per standards
• Provide meals to youth per USDA standards
• Recruit additional Club members
• Supervise youth on School buses
• Coordinate programs, activities, field trips, and events
