Job summary

Queens Community Veterinary Clinic (CVC), part of the ASPCA, is seeking a Veterinary Practice Director to lead a high‑performing team and deliver compassionate care to animals and outstanding client experiences in a busy nonprofit setting.

You will oversee clinic operations, partner with regional leadership, recruit and develop staff, ensure Fear Free handling, and drive impact across the CM program.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required.
• Minimum 5 years combined public-facing services experience.
• Minimum 3 years managing in a veterinary clinic environment preferred.
• Experience using EMR systems and MS Office.
• Fear Free Shelter certification within 60 days of hire.
• Proven ability to lead and coach managers.
• English language proficiency; strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of managers to optimize clinic operations, client experience, nursing/medical support, and veterinary care.
• Oversee daily clinic operations for efficient workflows and high-quality service.
• Promote a culture of kindness, respect, belonging, and teamwork with regular coaching.
• Partner with regional leadership to provide clear direction for the clinic management team.
• Oversee high-volume surgery and appointments to maximize impact for animals.
• Ensure staff scheduling supports smooth operations and impact.
• Recruit and hire staff in partnership with Talent Acquisition.
• Provide onboarding, training, and feedback to CM staff for success.
