Job summary

Relativity Space in Long Beach, CA is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer II for Paint and TPS who will own the application of protective coatings and finish system integration on the Terran R vehicle. You will shape the build flow on the shop floor to achieve high-quality, scalable production.

You will collaborate with engineering, fabrication, and supply chain to drive new tooling, BOM development, and efficient work orders, while maintaining safety and quality standards in a fast-paced rocket

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in aeronautical, mechanical engineering, or related field with 2+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience with 3D/2D CAD design and drafting per ASME Y14.5M.
• Ability to interface with engineering and manufacturing teams to improve manufacturability.

Responsibilities

• Own the application of Paint and Thermal Protection System materials from design release through installation on Terran R, ensuring scalable build flow.
• Drive first build efforts and improve product lines via design integration, BOM, build work orders, and specifications.
• Support shop floor with issue resolution and provide upstream feedback for manufacturing technology.
• Monitor large scale part movements and ensure safety with clear direction.
• Build relationships with Engineering, Build Reliability, Supply Chain and external partners to meet objectives.
