Job summary

Sterling Therapy Providers in Ohio is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to implement therapy programs and deliver treatments under the supervision of a Registered Occupational Therapist, aimed at increasing residents' independence and function.

The role includes performing ADL and ROM exercises, leading treatment groups, educating residents and families, documenting care, and collaborating with the rehabilitation team.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant Program certified by the AOTA; must be certified and/or eligible for certification by the AOTA.
• Licensed and/or eligible for licensure, as required by the state.

Responsibilities

• Implements resident's individualized treatment plan as defined by the primary Occupational Therapist.
• Provides individualized occupational therapy treatments including activities of daily living and ROM exercises.
• Performs activities of daily living evaluations under the direction of the Occupational Therapist.
• Organizes and facilitates treatment groups in consultation with the Occupational Therapist.
• Instructs residents, families and other caregivers in OT treatment skills under supervision.
• Collaborates with rehab team to develop programs matching residents' needs and abilities.
• Maintains appropriate and timely resident documentation for all treated residents.
• Attends care and staff meetings as a representative of OT under supervision.
• Cleans, maintains and reports repair needs for equipment as necessary.
• Ensures high quality, compassionate service respecting residents' needs and rights.
