Job summary

James Moore & Co., P.L. is seeking an Audit Director to lead our nonprofit audit practice in Florida.

The role focuses on managing complex nonprofit engagements, advising clients, and growing the firm’s nonprofit services, while mentoring staff and strengthening relationships with boards and executives. Ideal candidates will have CPA, 9+ years of public accounting auditing experience, and solid knowledge of nonprofit reporting standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
• CPA license.
• 9+ years of auditing experience.
• Strong knowledge of auditing standards, financial reporting, and client engagement management.
• Proven experience leading complex audit engagements and managing client relationships.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and audit engagement software.
• Proficiency with Co-Pilot or Chat GPT.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of nonprofit audit and attest clients, delivering exceptional service tailored to each organization's mission and operational needs.
• Serve as the primary advisor for accounting, auditing, and compliance matters.
• Build and maintain relationships with executive directors, CEOs, and boards of directors.
• Identify opportunities to provide additional value-added services and strengthen client partnerships.
• Lead audits and attest engagements in compliance with professional standards and nonprofit industry requirements.
• Mentor and develop managers, supervisors, and staff.
