Job summary

Environment New Hampshire is seeking a Conservation Advocate to conserve forests, lakes, and parks; protect wildlife; and promote clean energy solutions in New Hampshire. Location options include Manchester or Concord.

The role involves campaigns, events, coalition-building, volunteer management, media outreach, and advocacy with decision-makers. Travel may be required; prior environmental advocacy experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Advocate or organizer with at least 2 years of relevant experience. Advanced degrees may count toward experience.
• Passionate about saving the natural world and the cause.
• Effective communicator with writing and public speaking skills.
• Connector and good listener with a track record of bringing people together.
• Creative and strategic thinker capable of solving complex problems.
• Well-organized, goal-oriented, and accountable to a plan.
• Willing to travel regularly, with occasional evenings/weekends.

Responsibilities

• Help shape program priorities: participate in policy development, research and messaging.
• Build coalitions across diverse groups to support conservation goals.
• Organize webinars, events, and public meetings to inform and engage the public.
• Recruit and work with volunteers to expand impact.
• Earn media attention: organize events and write opinion pieces.
• Advocate to decision-makers through lobbying and testimony.
• Raise funds by writing proposals and engaging donors.
• Identify and recruit strong candidates to grow the team.
