Job summary

St. John’s Community Health in Los Angeles, CA seeks a Chief Medical Officer to lead clinical vision, quality, patient safety, and medical services across SJCH sites.

As senior physician executive, you will partner with the CEO, Board, and leaders to advance health equity and high-quality, evidence-based care. You will drive patient access, outcomes, care delivery, and resource stewardship while guiding credentialing, privileging, and clinical practice across multiple locations.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from an accredited institution.
• Current, unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of California.
• Current board certification in an applicable medical specialty.
• Current DEA registration.
• Ability to satisfy all SJCH credentialing and privileging requirements.
• Minimum of five years of clinical leadership experience.
• Experience leading physicians and advanced practice providers in a multisite healthcare environment.
• Experience with clinical quality, patient safety, and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Provide executive oversight and strategic direction for medical services across SJCH clinics, programs, and service lines.
• Establish, implement, and evaluate clinical standards, policies, protocols, and evidence-based practice guidelines.
• Partner with other departments to strengthen integrated care delivery.
• Lead clinical quality improvement, patient safety, and risk-reduction initiatives.
• Oversee credentialing, privileging, and professional practice evaluation.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, local requirements and SJCH policies.
