Job summary

St. John’s Community Health in Los Angeles, CA is seeking a Chief Medical Officer to provide executive leadership for clinical vision, quality, patient safety and medical services.

The CMO partners with the CEO, board and leadership to advance health equity and high-quality, patient-centered care across SJCH sites. The role requires CA medical licensure, MD/DO, board certification, and DEA registration, with at least five years of multisite clinical leadership experience.

Qualifications

• MD/DO degree from an accredited institution.
• Current, unrestricted license to practice medicine in CA.
• Current board certification in a medical specialty.
• Current DEA registration and credentialing readiness.
• Experience leading physicians and medical directors.

Responsibilities

• Provide executive oversight and strategic direction for medical services across SJCH clinics and programs.
• Lead clinical quality improvement, patient safety, and risk-reduction initiatives.
• Partner with departments to strengthen integrated care delivery and resource use.
• Represent SJCH with external partners and lead governance discussions.
