Job summary

Vanderbilt Health is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist for a 2nd shift in a state-of-the-art Virology Laboratory, performing routine and complex tests with precision. You will record results accurately and ensure timely delivery, applying clinical knowledge to achieve quality patient care outcomes.

Responsibilities include pre-analytic, analytic, and post-analytic steps, instrument handling, quality control, and ongoing skill development within a collaborative lab team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a clinical laboratory science or related field.
• Tennessee licensure/approval for Medical Laboratory Act (as applicable).
• Certifications: ASCP, AMT or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient-focused care by performing routine and complex tests across pre-analytic, analytic and post-analytic stages.
• Performs qualitative and quantitative analytical procedures with quality control and timely reporting.
• Demonstrates knowledge of techniques, instruments, and factors affecting test results.
• Additional duties may be assigned as needed.
