Job summary

AstraZeneca plc seeks a Study Physician, Immunology, to serve as the clinical authority for rheumatology programs, guiding study design, safety reviews, and data interpretation. You will collaborate with global teams across development, regulatory, and commercial partners to drive strategic decisions.

The role requires extensive immunology experience, strong communication, and demonstrated leadership in complex clinical trials, with travel as needed across global partnerships.

Qualifications

• 8 years' experience in immunology or related clinical field.
• MD or equivalent degree from an accredited university, plus possible PhD.
• Board certification in a relevant field (neurology or related) preferred.
• Experience in biotechnology/pharmaceutical clinical development and cross-functional teams.
• Solid understanding of drug development, trial design, and data review.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert medical input for immunology assets in development from Phase 1 to pivotal trials.
• Act as clinical authority for study design, safety evaluation, and endpoint definitions.
• Lead safety assessments, including causality, severity, and risk-benefit analyses.
• Represent the study in governance forums and coordinate with cross-functional partners.
• Contribute to study and program-level documents with clinical rationale.
