Job summary

UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas seeks an experienced Research Associate to contribute to immunology-focused projects in helminth-host interactions and vaccine development. The role involves independent project ownership, collaboration with the lab team, data analysis, and manuscript preparation.

Ideal candidates have strong immunology background, experience with flow cytometry, murine models, and diverse human sample work; ability to troubleshoot, design experiments, and mentor

Qualifications

• Significant prior experience in immunology is preferred, with a background in host–pathogen interactions or infectious disease immunology.
• Experience with flow cytometry, single cell analysis, murine models of infection or immunity, ex vivo immune assays, and experimental design is desirable.
• Additional experience with molecular biology, cell culture, immune phenotyping, cytokine assays, adoptive transfer or depletion approaches, single-cell or transcriptomic methods, or analysis of human immune samples would be advantageous.
• Candidates should work independently, troubleshoot, interpret complex data, contribute to manuscripts, and mentor junior personnel.

Responsibilities

• Recommends and/or initiates new or modified procedures and techniques based on latest developments or data.
• Performs computer programming for accumulation and analysis of research data.
• Designs, constructs, repairs, or modifies equipment used in experiments and research projects.
• Instructs students and staff on techniques, procedures, and equipment used in research.
• Assists PI and others in writing reports and papers for publication.
• May supervise lower-grade employees performing complex laboratory tasks.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
