Job summary

The Baylor College of Medicine Research Assistant I in the Immunology Research Division, Pediatrics, onsite at Texas Children's Hospital, will support translational studies in immune alterations in children with chronic liver diseases. You will perform experiments, manage samples, and ensure regulatory compliance as part of a collaborative academic medical center.

Bachelor's degree in a Basic Science or related field required.
Two years of relevant research experience required.

Responsibilities

Independently design, coordinate, and perform experiments using established techniques.
Plan experimental timelines and execute studies with minimal day‑to‑day oversight.
Perform immune cell phenotyping and functional analyses using flow cytometry or microscopy.
Conduct mouse colony maintenance, animal husbandry, genotyping, tissue collection, and histologic staining.
Isolate PBMCs from human specimens and maintain biorepository records.
Perform sterile cell culture and co‑culture experiments.
Document, analyze, and interpret results and report findings to the PI.
Ensure lab spaces comply with safety policies and regulatory standards.
