Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) is seeking a Research Specialist I to assist in day-to-day lab maintenance and experiments under the supervision of the Principal Investigator. The role involves working with small laboratory animals, performing cellular and molecular analyses, and maintaining detailed records.

The candidate should have a high school diploma with two years of relevant experience or a bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, or a related field.

Qualificações

• High school diploma with two years of lab or clinical experience; a bachelor's may substitute.
• Experience with immunological assays and cell biology techniques preferred.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision.

Responsabilidades

• Perform animal-related lab work including measuring tumors, collecting fluids and tissues; administer drugs and cells; perform analyses using flow cytometry and PCR.
• Conduct cellular/molecular experiments including cell culture, cloning, ELISA, RT-PCR, immunostaining and flow cytometry.
• Maintain rodent colonies and records; assist in developing new models through crossbreeding; communicate with other labs and update protocols.
• Maintain laboratory instruments, supplies, and records; place orders and coordinate with suppliers.
