Job summary

Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine in La Jolla, CA seeks Immunology Discovery Scientist Intern to join a multidisciplinary team developing novel therapeutics. Under mentor guidance, you will work on a defined project with opportunities to present findings at an internal symposium.

The program runs roughly three months, May–Aug 2027 (or June–Sept 2027), with a hybrid model: on-site three days a week and remote two days. Strong English and collaboration skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Permanently authorized to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship.
• Must be enrolled in an accredited university/college for duration of internship.
• Six semesters completed for undergraduates or equivalent for graduates.
• Graduate students must pursue relevant master's, PharmD, PA or PhD degrees.
• Minimum GPA of 3.0 reflects coursework performance.
• Currently enrolled in biology, chemistry, biochemistry, or related fields.
• Full-time availability (40 h/w); hybrid on-site three days, remote two days.
• Proven leadership/participation in campus or service programs is desired.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills; ability to collaborate globally.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute experimental or computational analyses.
• Participate in department, team, and cross-functional meetings.
• Collect data and maintain experimental records.
• Shadow key functional roles for learning and development.
• Assist with interpretation and reporting of results with senior staff.
• Review literature and explore new technologies.
• Lead on specific programs or group projects when needed.
• Prepare abstracts/posters for organization-wide symposium.
• Contribute to multiple projects as assigned.
