Job summary

Allen Institute in Seattle is seeking a Scientific Communications & Engagement Partner for Immunology. You will translate complex immunology into clear communications for scientists, institutions, and the public, collaborating with the Immunology leadership and the central Communications team.

You will design visuals, develop tutorials and guides, and help disseminate immunology datasets and tools while coordinating seminars and onboarding for new team members.

Qualifications

  • PhD in life sciences (immunology, neuroimmunology, or related field).
  • 5 years post-PhD translating complex science into engaging communication for diverse audiences.
  • Strong visual storytelling: slides, figures, diagrams that communicate science clearly.
  • Experience managing scientific content for social media or digital channels.
  • Excellent writing across formats from manuscripts to public-facing summaries.
  • Ability to partner with scientific leadership, communications teams, and external communities.
  • Demonstrated portfolio of scientific communication work; provide work samples.

Responsibilities

  • External Voice & Scientific Communication: serve as Immunology's external voice on findings and field developments.
  • Visual & Narrative Storytelling: design slides and visual narratives for leadership; create figures and diagrams.
  • Data & Tool Dissemination: develop guides and tutorials; promote usage of datasets and tools.
  • Educational Programming & Onboarding: coordinate seminars, speakers, and onboarding for new members.
