AstraZeneca in Cambridge, MA, seeks a Director of Immunology Scientific Innovation to lead a laboratory-based team and drive discovery in immune-mediated diseases. Hybrid work model with three onsite days per week; relocation considered for qualified candidates outside the Boston area.

The role combines disease biology, immunology, and cell therapy strategies to shape translational programs and mentor scientists toward impactful medicines.

Qualifications

• PhD or equivalent in immunology, molecular biology, cell biology or related field.
• 5+ years in immune-mediated disease biology R&D.
• 3+ years in B-cell and/or T-cell biology.
• 5+ years in inflammatory bowel disease or intestinal immunology desirable.

Responsabilités

• Lead scientific strategies in immunological disease biology to inform hypotheses and discovery priorities.
• Develop and implement discovery strategies for immune-mediated diseases, including IBD and B-cell/T-cell disorders.
• Translate biology into therapeutic opportunities and prioritize mechanisms for drug discovery.
• Lead programs from discovery toward early clinical development and provide scientific judgment.
