Job summary

Vaxcyte in SF Bay Area seeks a Senior Manager, Immunoassay Development to lead the CMC Immunoassay group for critical reagents and reference materials across the vaccine pipeline.

The role blends hands-on immunoassay work with people leadership, study prioritization, and lifecycle management, ensuring timely delivery and rigorous documentation.

Onsite, four days per week, with a compensation package including equity and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• PhD or MS/BS with extensive vaccine CMC analytical development experience.
• Hands-on immunoassay development, optimization, troubleshooting, and lifecycle support.
• Experience leading people, coordinating daily lab operations, and staff development.
• Strong communication across functions and with CROs/CDMOs.
• GMP-regulated analytical environment exposure preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily immunoassay laboratory operations including scheduling, staffing, assay execution oversight, and data review.
• Lead and mentor scientists and research associates in immunoassay development and lifecycle management.
• Prioritize work based on program needs and cross-functional deliverables.
• Provide technical oversight to ensure high-quality assay execution and documentation.
• Support development of fit-for-purpose immunoassays across the vaccine pipeline.
• Coordinate outsourced immunoassay activities with CROs, CDMOs, and vendors.
• Collaborate with Regulatory, Process Development, Manufacturing, and QA partners to support programs.
• Promote a high-performing, data-integrity focused lab culture.
