Job summary

Hudson River Trading (HRT) is seeking an Immigration Specialist to lead U.S. employment-based immigration filings and strategic case planning within our Legal team.

You will manage full lifecycle filings (H-1B, L-1, OPT/STEM OPT, E-3, TN, etc.), coordinate with internal stakeholders, monitor deadlines, and ensure compliance while delivering clear, practical immigration guidance. Strong written and verbal communication, attention to detail, and empathy are essential as you align immigration

Qualifications

• ≥7 years experience with corporate immigration procedures (US nonimmigrant and immigrant filings).
• Experience with full life-cycle of nonimmigrant visa cases (H-1B, F-1, OPT and STEM OPT, E-3, TN, L-1A/B, H-1B1).
• Knowledge of procedural and filing requirements for US nonimmigrant visa processes.
• Experience with immigration management software (LawLogix, Miratech, Docketwise, Envoy).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Gather and review immigration eligibility documents and analyze options including H-1B, L-1A/B, E-3, TN, J-1, and F-1 STEM OPT qualifications, and select immigrant visa processes.
• Prepare US employment-based nonimmigrant and immigrant filings in their entirety (draft letters, organize documents, proofs) and file with government agencies.
• Monitor and track visa expiration dates and filing deadlines; conduct routine audits of employee status documents.
• Manage ad-hoc immigration compliance tasks (DS-160 reviews, visa appointment scheduling, LCA posting, PAO compliance).
• Advise managers and employees on complex immigration matters, communicate case processing procedures and timelines.

Hudson River Trading (HRT) is seeking an Immigration Specialist with a strong background in managing the full lifecycle of U.S. nonimmigrant and immigrant visa processes to join our Legal team.

As an Immigration Specialist, you will be responsible for filing employment-based immigration petitions and applications, strategizing individual cases, and providing recommendations on immigration matters to internal and external stakeholders. This role will work directly on U.S. visa petition filings and immigration compliance projects. The ideal candidate has excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, and an empathetic, and judicious approach to handling employee immigration concerns.

Additionally, you’ll have strong knowledge of various visa processes, including initiating visa extensions and amendments, analyzing documents, and determining immediate and long-term immigration strategy.

Responsibilities

• Gather and review immigration eligibility documents and analyze potential immigration options/benefits, including eligibility in the H-1B, L-1A/B, E-3, TN, J-1, and F-1 STEM OPT qualifications, and select immigrant visa processes
• Prepare US employment-based nonimmigrant and immigrant filings in their entirety (draft supporting letters, organize documents, proofread, etc.) and file with appropriate government agencies
• Monitor and track visa expiration dates and filing deadlines for assigned cases and conduct routine audits of employee status documents
• Manage other ad-hoc immigration compliance responsibilities (including but not limited to reviewing DS-160s, assisting with visa appointment scheduling, Labor Condition Applications (LCA) posting management and Public Access File (PAF) compliance)
• Interact with and advise managers and employees on complex immigration matters, communicate case processing procedures and timelines, and provide immigration analysis

Qualifications

• A minimum of 7 years experience with corporate immigration procedures and filings for both U.S. nonimmigrant and immigrant filings
• Experience with the full life-cycle of nonimmigrant visa cases (H-1B, F-1, OPT and STEM OPT, E-3, TN, L-1A/B, and H-1B1), including initiating visa extensions and amendments, analyzing documents and determining immediate and long-term immigration strategy
• Knowledge of procedural and filing requirements for various types of US nonimmigrant visa processes.
• Experience with immigration management software such as LawLogix, Miratech, Docketwise, Envoy, or a related system/technology
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

The estimated base salary range for this position is 115,000 to 140,000 USD per year (or local equivalent). The base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This role will also be eligible for discretionary performance-based bonuses and a competitive benefits package.
