Job summary

The Criminal Division of the United States Attorney's Office for the Western District of Washington is currently seeking term attorneys to handle the investigation and prosecution of immigration and immigration-related offenses. The duty location will be Seattle, WA or Tacoma, WA, with two vacancies and potential for additional positions as needed.

These are three-year term positions, not-to-exceed September 30, 2029, and may be extended or made permanent at the Office's discretion.

Qualifications

• J.D. degree and active bar membership (any U.S. jurisdiction).
• U.S. citizenship is required.
• Ideal qualifications include litigation experience in criminal and/or immigration law and a commitment to public service.
• Candidates must demonstrate strong analytical ability and the ability to articulate critical issues clearly.
• Excellent computer literacy, including Internet research, electronic filing, email, data management and video conferencing.

Responsibilities

• Advise federal law enforcement on investigations.
• Pursue prosecutions for federal offenses within the district.
• Present cases to the grand jury and try cases in U.S. District Court.
• Represent the United States in appeals when required.
• Positions are located in Seattle or Tacoma with regular travel between offices.
