Job summary

National Immigrant Justice Center seeks a Paralegal to support intake, research, case review, and documentation preparation for staff and pro bono attorneys. The school-based help desk paralegal will coordinate with senior attorneys and project managers to provide immigration resources in local high schools.

Although posted as Paralegal I, the employer will consider higher level commensurate with experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree; experience with immigrants preferred.
• Regular communication with clients in Spanish.
• Strong writing, editing, organizational, and computer skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 apls (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint).
• Familiarity with or ability to learn case management systems like LegalServer.

Responsibilities

• Conduct intake and legal research.
• Assess cases for eligibility and prepare supporting documentation.
• Draft applications, affidavits, and pleadings for submission.
• Maintain accurate case records and prepare reports and schedules.
• Remain current on immigration law and procedures.
