Qualifications

  • Extensive immigration law experience in a law firm, legal administration, paralegal, or similar immigration role.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to spot missing documents and errors.
  • Ability to manage high-volume, hands-on, manual work in a deadline-driven setting.
  • Clear, professional phone and written communication with clients.
  • Experience with filing milestones and deadlines in immigration practice.

Responsibilities

  • Draft immigration forms, supporting documentation, and client correspondence.
  • Cross-check documentation against legal requirements for accuracy and minimal revisions.
  • Assemble immigration petition and application packets by hand.
  • Contact clients to request missing documents, confirm receipt, answer routine questions, and provide status updates.
  • Track packet status and deadlines and flag missing information.
  • Process mail and filings, including logging, sorting, and routing time-sensitive notices.
  • Maintain organized physical and digital case files through scanning, filing, and data entry.
  • Coordinate with attorneys and legal staff to confirm packet requirements and ensure timely submission.
  • Handle sensitive client documents confidentially and accurately.

Requirements
  • Immigration legal experience required in a law firm, legal administration, paralegal, or similar role within an immigration practice
  • Self-motivated and able to drive priorities and tasks with minimal supervision
  • Comfortable with high-volume, hands-on, manual work
  • Sharp attention to detail and ability to catch missing documents and errors
  • Strong organizational skills for managing multiple packets and deadlines
  • Clear, professional phone and written communication with clients
  • Trustworthy handling sensitive and confidential client information
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven legal environment
  • Immigration filing experience, such as family-based or employment-based filings, preferred
  • Tech-forward and/or startup environment experience preferred
  • Familiarity with immigration case management software preferred
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
