Job summary

Muslim Legal Fund of America is seeking an Immigration Paralegal to support the Immigration Litigation Department on removal defense matters and federal court litigation. Qualifications

• Paralegal certification is strongly preferred.
• 2-3 years of paralegal experience in removal defense and/or immigration litigation.
• Proficiency in other languages is preferred, specifically Arabic, but not required.
• Knowledge of civil litigation procedures.
• Knowledge of immigration forms, filing locations, and applicable government filing fees.
• Willingness to perform additional case-preparation tasks as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist in all phases of removal defense cases before the Immigration Court and manage ECAS filings.
• Draft and file EOIR pleadings, motions, and Cancellation of Removal applications.
• Draft templates of complaints, motions, briefs, summons, and discovery for federal litigation.
• Assist in managing Excel sheets, monthly, and quarterly reports.
• Conduct client intake interviews and gather biographical information and supporting documents.
• Collaborate with attorneys and partners to develop educational events.
