Job summary

Community Council Idaho is seeking an experienced attorney to provide direct legal representation in civil matters with a focus on immigration and family law. The role includes working with clients before courts and agencies, and supervising DOJ-accredited staff.

You will conduct bilingual trainings, travel across Idaho for outreach, and contribute to grant reporting while maintaining strict confidentiality and professional standards.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-accredited law school or eligible within six months.
• Active admission to the bar; Idaho bar preferred or must be obtained within nine months after hire.
• Commitment to immigrant rights, public interest law, and the organization's mission.
• Strong organizational and leadership skills to manage a complex caseload.
• Ability to supervise non-attorney legal staff and work independently.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, including legal writing.
• Experience with legal case management systems and electronic filing.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace.
• Willingness to travel frequently, including overnight stays; valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct legal representation to community members in civil matters with a focus on immigration, family, contract, and housing law.
• Represent clients before local and federal courts, USCIS, and other agencies.
• Supervise DOJ-accredited representatives and paralegals; review work for compliance.
• Conduct outreach, legal clinics, and bilingual trainings across Idaho.
• Plan and manage grants, track cases, and ensure confidentiality and compliance.
