The United States Attorney's Office is seeking an Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Civil Division's Immigration Unit, based in Sacramento or Fresno. The attorney will represent the United States in immigration-related litigation, with emphasis on habeas corpus actions, and may handle mandamus and APA challenges.

There is potential to move to other civil areas as workload requires. Ideal candidates hold a J.D. and be an active member of the bar, with 1+ year post-J.D.

Formación

• J.D. degree (or equivalent) and active bar in good standing.
• At least one year post-J.D. legal or other relevant experience.
• Strong oral and written communication and research skills.

Responsabilidades

• Represent the United States in immigration-related litigation, including habeas corpus actions.
• Handle mandamus, APA challenges, and affirmative civil immigration enforcement cases.
• Possibly transition to other civil practice areas as workload requires.
