Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle.

Job description

Avagyan Law Firm is seeking an experienced Immigration Attorney to make a significant impact in clients' lives. Position: Immigration Attorney
Location: Los Angeles
Compensation: Starting salary of $120,000-$170,000 annually, based on experience

Responsibilities:

1. Represent clients before the Executive Office of Immigration Review, USCIS, and California state courts in removal proceedings.
2. Manage a caseload of removal defense cases in Immigration Court.
3. Prepare and litigate applications for relief from removal, including asylum, withholding of removal, CAT, cancellation of removal, and adjustment of status.
4. Represent clients in family-based immigration matters before USCIS, the Department of State, and consulates worldwide, including U-Visas, N-400, VAWA, I-601A, I-212, and family petitions.
5. Conduct legal research to support cases.
6. Collaborate with administrative staff on case strategy and client meetings.
7. Counsel clients, evaluate options, and determine the best course of action.
8. Analyze client needs, propose solutions, and strategize cases.
9. Take on additional responsibilities as the role evolves.

Qualifications:

1. Juris Doctorate and active bar license in any state.
2. 3-4 years of experience in VAWA, U, T, Naturalization, Removal Defense, and Family-Based cases.
3. Fluency in English and Russian is strongly preferred.
4. Valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, active insurance, and willingness to travel for hearings and client engagement.
