The Advanced Visualization Department at Penn State's Applied Research Laboratory (ARL) is seeking a Visualization R&D Engineer to push the boundaries of VR, AR, and collaborative visualization for national security missions.

You will design experiences, APIs, and 3D data visualization workflows, deploy on VR/AR hardware, and draft whitepapers and proposals for sponsors. This on-site role requires travel to remote locations and collaboration with government sponsors and industry partners.

Formación

• Software development proficiency (C#, Python, or Java).
• Team-based software development, troubleshooting, and deployment experience.
• Software engineering, systems engineering, human computer interfaces, or visualization technologies.

Responsabilidades

• Design experiences, interactions, and applications that support collaboration for research sponsors.
• Design and implement APIs to pass data between disparate software applications.
• Develop methodologies for integrating, visualizing, and disseminating novel 3D data using game-engine frameworks.
• Create tool workflows or visual communication methods using internal and external toolkits.
• Integrate features with synthetic environment frameworks across sponsored projects.
• Deploy VR/AR solutions on latest hardware (Meta, Varjo, HTC, etc.).
• Prepare engineering documentation and draft whitepapers/proposals for sponsors.
