Job summary

Seattle Academy in Seattle seeks a long-term substitute to teach Upper School Spanish from November 30, 2026 for six to eight weeks. The teacher will address heritage speakers and intermediate to advanced students (levels 5 and 7) using an immersive Comprehensible Input approach.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of experience teaching Spanish, an undergraduate degree, and preferably a Master’s degree. Strong classroom management and collaboration with colleagues are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in Spanish or related field.
• 3–5 years of experience teaching Spanish.
• Ability to teach heritage speakers and intermediate to advanced students (levels 5 and 7).
• Immersive, Comprehensible Input-based approach to language teaching.

Responsibilities

• Teach Upper School Spanish (grades 6–12) using immersive CI methods.
• Instruct heritage speakers and intermediate to advanced students (levels 5 and 7).
• Collaborate with faculty and contribute to a positive, inclusive learning environment.
