Job summary

Northwood Technical College in Shell Lake, WI, is seeking a Health Education Center Simulation Specialist to oversee daily technical operations for simulations and Telehealth at the HEC. The LTE role maintains simulators and AV systems, troubleshoots issues, performs preventive maintenance, and collaborates with instructors to deliver immersive, hands-on training for healthcare students.

Qualifications

Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbally.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and the ability to effectively apply technology to tasks and projects.
Ability to contribute to a team environment while maintaining positivity and professionalism.
Strong customer service skills and a focus on creative problem solving.
Time management skills that apply organization and prioritization demonstrating the ability to multitask and work independently.
Ability to obtain driver’s license and insurance coverage in accordance with College policy.
Proficiency in PC-based computer software applications, web-conferencing and audio-visual technologies.

Responsibilities

Maintain simulators, AV systems and support equipment.
Troubleshoot simulators and Telehealth systems; perform preventative maintenance and repair.
Collaborate with local campuses to connect Telehealth Hubs via web-conferencing and related tech.
Prepare facility, mannikins, AV systems and equipment for training sessions; reset after sessions.
Operate audiovisual equipment during live simulation-based training.
Learn, install, and configure hardware and software updates from vendors.
Assist in researching equipment vendors and upgrading simulation equipment.
Assist with organization of equipment and supplies in storerooms.
Monitor equipment performance, safety, and certification.
