SCHOOL UNION 76-Deer Isle-Stonington, Brooklin and Sedgwick is seeking an immersion SLPA to work under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist. The SLPA will provide supportive services in assessing, screening, and treating students with communication disorders.

The position offers compensation of $25-32 per hour and involves performing therapy, screenings, material prep, collaboration with the supervising SLP, and administrative duties within SU76 schools in Maine.

Qualifications

• Typically requires an associate's degree or completion of an accredited SLPA training program.
• Licensure/certification as required by state.
• Supervision by a licensed, certified Speech-Language Pathologist.
• Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills; bilingual abilities often preferred by employer.

Responsibilities

• Therapy implementation: Run individual or group therapy sessions following treatment plans designed by the supervising SLP.
• Screenings & data: Conduct speech and language screenings (without interpretation) and track patient progress and data.
• Preparation & maintenance: Create instructional therapy materials, set up treatment rooms, and maintain equipment.
• Collaboration: Communicate regularly with the supervising SLP and assist with family or caregiver education.
• Administrative tasks: Maintain medical records, handle scheduling, and manage office inventory.
