Job summary

The Fountain Group is seeking a Shipping Associate for a client project in Bay Point, CA. This 1st shift role runs Monday–Friday, 5:00 AM–1:30 PM, lasting 6+ months with potential extension or hire.

Responsibilities include pulling/packing materials, preparing shipping documents, operating forklifts, and using SAP and scanners. Requires 1 year warehouse and forklift experience, HS diploma or GED, and ability to lift 50 lbs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Basic arithmetic skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
• 1 year warehouse experience and 1 year forklift experience preferred.
• Computer knowledge and legible penmanship are required.
• Knowledge of hazardous materials and DOT labeling is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Comply with SHE requirements and initiatives.
• Maintain safe, clean, and organized warehouse/shipping area.
• Pull and pack materials for shipment.
• Create and sign off shipping documents as needed.
• Communicate with supervisors and peers in person, by computer, or via phone.
• Operate forklifts (sit-down and stand-up) and pallet jacks.
• Use SAP, barcode scanners, and handheld radios for data entry and processing.
• Handle loading/unloading of trucks while maintaining material integrity.
• Work in environments with fumes, dust, chemicals, and noise; overtime as needed.

The Fountain Group iscurrently seeking a Shipping Associate for a prominent client of ours. This position is located in Bay Point, CA.

Title: Shipping Associate

Location: Bay Point, CA 94565, USA

Shift: 1st shift Hours, M-F 5:00AM - 1:30PM

Duration: 6+ months (with potential extension/conversion to hire)

Hourly Rate on W2: $22/hr.

Job Description:

• Comply with all SHE related requirements and initiatives
• Maintain a safe work environment in a fast-paced warehouse/shipping environment.
• Maintain a clean work environment complying with all housekeeping standards
• Pulling and Packing material
• Proper communication with Supervisors or Peers – in person, computer, or via telephone
• Able to work with and around hazardous materials, chemicals, and equipment
• Must be able to work independently and follow written instructions
• Create shipping documents and sign-off as needed.
• Loading/unloading trucks of goods while maintaining the integrity of the material
• Interacting with Computers- Using computer systems and other electronics (including hardware and software) to enter data, or process information. SAP, Barcode scanners, Handheld radios
• Operate sit down and stand up forklifts.
• Operate stretch wrapper and pallet Jacks
• Able to work in the presence of environmental conditions such as fumes, dust, heights, chemicals, odors, and noise.
• Must be flexible about working overtime hours as needed

Qualifications:

• Education — High school diploma or GED
• Basic Arithmetic — Adding, subtracting, multiplication and division
• Experience — 1-year warehouse experience and 1-year forklift experience preferred
• Special Skills — Computer knowledge and legible penmanship
• Special Handling — Knowledge of hazardous material and DOT Labeling

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
• Wearing of appropriate PPE as required. Hard hat, safety glasses and steel toe shoes at a minimum
• Must be able to pass forklift certification within 4 months
• This position requires the ability to perform physical labor throughout the entire shift, which includes bending and standing for long periods of time.
• Warehouse environment, where temperature can be seasonably cool or warm. Freezer environment (Zero Degrees) for short periods of time
