Summary

We are looking for amazing lead teachers! The ideal candidate is bilingual in Spanish and English, has fantastic classroom management skills, and LOVES children! A degree in Early Childhood is required, with a minimum Career Level 4 on the Georgia PDS. Candidate must be fluent in Spanish and be local to the Atlanta metro area.

General Description
  • Responsible for planning and implementing instruction and assessing child growth and development in the classroom in accordance with Bright from the Start, Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning, NAEYC, and LLIP policies, goals, objectives, mission, and values.
  • Responsible for supervision of Assistant Teacher.
  • Bilingual Spanish/English proficiency required.
Duties

Examples of Responsibilities
  • Facilitate learning opportunities for children in Spanish.
  • Attend to custodial needs, including diaper changing and toileting assistance.
  • Plan and implement developmentally appropriate lessons and activities.
  • Adapt the program and teaching style to meet individual children's needs, interests, and talents.
  • Interact with children individually or in small groups during activities.
  • Ensure the physical safety of children during activities.
  • Maintain a clean and healthy environment following sanitation procedures.
  • Train and supervise classroom staff.
  • Consult with teachers from other programs.
  • Communicate with parents regarding children's progress through conferences.
  • Plan and conduct staff training sessions annually and attend all staff and parent meetings.
  • Maintain an orderly classroom environment, including housekeeping tasks.
  • Participate in professional development training.
  • Distribute newsletters to parents.
  • Complete individual portfolios for children to monitor progress.
  • Assist with public relations, recruitment, and family events.
  • Prepare and submit required reports timely.
  • Respect and honor children's cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds.
  • Communicate effectively with parents.
  • Observe, document, and report on children's development.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements

Job Requirements and Qualifications

  • Meet Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning Lead Teacher Credential requirements.
  • Hold a degree and have experience in ECE or a related field.
  • Fluent in Spanish.
  • Thorough knowledge of child development.
  • Ability to work under pressure in noisy conditions and respond to multiple needs.
  • Ability to handle exposure to bites, scratches, kicks, and hitting.
  • Ability to lift children of varying weights as needed, especially infants and toddlers.
