Job Summary :

Assures that department customer(s) needs are met through the efficient and effective leadership/management of department resources.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities:

  1. Core elements: Maintains 24-hour responsibility and accountability for operations of assigned department.
  2. Supports hospital mission and values statement, strategic plan and vision, and department service statement/department philosophy.
  3. Develops, administers, and evaluates department goals and objectives aligned with hospital goals.
  4. Develops, implements, and reviews department policies and procedures consistent with hospital policies.
  5. Manages department finances including operating expenses, human resources, capital expenditures, and revenue maximization.
  6. Ensures staff and self competency through performance appraisals, mandatory training, disciplinary actions, hiring, orientation, and professional development.
  7. Oversees Quality Assessment and Improvement initiatives, fosters continuous quality improvement and hospitality culture, develops QA&I plans, and monitors trends.
  8. Promotes waste elimination, teamwork, pride of workmanship, and integrates risk management into QA&I.
  9. Maintains a safe working environment adhering to infection control, hazardous materials, disaster safety, and general safety policies.
  10. Communicates effectively with customers, staff, administration, medical staff, and other departments through various channels.
  11. Supports community engagement through participation in local events and activities.

Note: 20% of time is allocated to clinical hours.

Education and Experience Required:

Bachelor's degree in Nursing required; Master's preferred. 1-2 years of experience required.

Mandatory Licensure/Certifications:

Current RN license.

Work Shift :

8:00 am - 5:00 pm (United States of America)

Scheduled Weekly Hours :

40 hours
