A leading healthcare institution in Washington, DC, is hiring a Clinical Nurse for the Intermediate Care Unit. The role involves providing advanced nursing care to patients with complex medical needs such as cardiovascular and pulmonary conditions, ensuring quality support through a collaborative team environment. Candidates must hold a nursing degree and relevant licenses.
General Summary of Position
The Intermediate Care Unit (IMC) at MedStar Good Samaritan Hospital serves as a critical bridge between the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and general medical-surgical floors. The unit is designed for patients requiring close observation and advanced nursing care—more than what a general floor provides, but not at the intensity level of the ICU.
Patients in the IMC often present with complex medical needs, including cardiovascular, pulmonary, and post-operative conditions. With access to continuous cardiac telemetry, frequent vital monitoring, and respiratory support, the IMC is equipped to manage a high-acuity, medically diverse population.
Key Responsibilities
