Job summary

The George Washington University Hospital in Washington, DC is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join the IMC/PCU team. The RN will monitor telemetry, administer medications, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary care team to deliver high-quality patient-centered care in a fast-paced setting.

Candidates must hold DC RN licensure, BLS/ACLS, and have at least 1 year of acute care experience; BSN is preferred.

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse license in Washington, DC (or eligibility).
• BSN preferred (ASN considered with commitment to obtain BSN).
• BLS and ACLS certification (current).
• Minimum 1 year of acute care experience (IMC, PCU, Telemetry, or ICU preferred).

Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to IMC/PCU patients with complex medical conditions.
• Monitor cardiac rhythms, vital signs, and patient status; respond to changes promptly.
• Administer medications, treatments, and therapies per physician orders and clinical protocols.
• Utilize advanced monitoring equipment and participate in rapid response situations.
• Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and interdisciplinary teams to plan and implement care.
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the EMR.
• Adhere to hospital policies, procedures, and quality standards.
