The George Washington University Hospital is seeking an IMC/PCU Registered Nurse to provide high-quality, patient-centered care for moderately complex patients requiring enhanced monitoring and clinical expertise.

Qualifications

• BSN required or currently enrolled in BSN program.
• Current Washington, D.C. RN license or eligibility.
• BLS certification required.
• ACLS preferred or required within a defined timeframe.
• Acute care/telemetry/step-down/critical care experience preferred.
• Strong assessment, communication, and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide evidence-based nursing care to IMC/PCU patients with complex conditions.
• Perform continuous cardiac/physiologic monitoring and intervene early when needed.
• Administer and titrate select IV medications per unit protocols.
• Collaborate with physicians, APNs, ICU teams, and ancillary services for safe transitions.
• Apply clinical judgment to manage changes in patient condition.
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, plans, and recovery goals.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of assessments and interventions.
• Support quality improvement and uphold patient safety standards.
