JOB TITLE: Imaging Technologist - Ultrasound

LOCATION OR DEPARTMENT: Clinic

EXEMPT STATUS/GRADE: Non-Exempt/Step Scale

REPORTS TO: Clinic Manager, Supervisor or Lead Technologist

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: None

SUMMARY OF POSITION: Perform ultrasound exams and procedures according to established protocols to provide quality images and patient care.

Essential Functions:

1. Perform ultrasound exams and procedures as per protocols to ensure quality and timely patient care.
2. Obtain patient history, answer questions, and inform patients about the exam to ensure comfort and understanding.
3. Coordinate with radiologists, clinics, and patients to ensure correct exams, films, and records are prepared.
4. Ensure all paperwork is accurate and complete for radiologists, clinics, and medical records.
5. Incorporate company values into daily interactions.
6. Assist in training, stocking supplies, and other departmental duties as needed.

Physical Demands: Moderate sitting, standing, walking, reaching, gripping, twisting, and other movements; manual dexterity for operating equipment; assist patients with mobility.

Environmental Conditions: Exposure to communicable diseases, blood, bodily fluids, and potentially ionizing radiation.

Qualifications:

• RDMS or RDMS/RT (R) required.
• RDMS (OB), (RVT) registration within one year of employment.
• Ultrasound experience preferred.
• CPR certification required.
• Knowledge of sonography principles, anatomy, and physiology required.
• Excellent patient care, problem-solving, organizational, communication, and technical skills required.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Competent in computer applications like RIS and PACS.
